Presight and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport Sign MoU for AI-Powered Smart Transport Platform
Presight, the leading global applied AI company, and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan have signed a preliminary term sheet to explore the development of a national smart transport data platform. Powered by sovereign artificial intelligence, the platform aims to optimize the monitoring, management, and overall performance of Kazakhstan’s transportation network.
Real-Time Insights and Infrastructure Protection
The proposed platform is designed to deliver real-time operational visibility, precise predictive insights, and data-driven decision-making capabilities. This technological leap will empower transport authorities to significantly enhance road safety, safeguard critical infrastructure, streamline daily operations, and boost the overall resilience of the country's transport ecosystem.
Under the agreement, which was officially signed in the capital city of Astana, both parties will evaluate the development of a unified operational platform. This system will integrate:
Existing traffic monitoring systems.
Weigh-in-motion (WIM) sensors for vehicles.
Advanced video analytics.
Various other digital solutions within a single environment.
Deploying these AI-backed capabilities is expected to tighten regulatory oversight, increase the detection rate of transport-related violations, protect road infrastructure, and enable a highly efficient, data-driven national logistics framework.
Executive Perspectives
Nurlan Sauranbayev, Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan: The Minister emphasized that operating a modern transport system effectively requires the widespread adoption of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. He noted that such strategic initiatives will fundamentally enhance road safety, ensure higher levels of transparency in transit operations, and elevate the management of Kazakhstan's transport sector to a completely new level.
Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight: Pramotedham stated that Kazakhstan has demonstrated clear ambition in building a national infrastructure driven by AI technologies. Drawing on the company’s extensive expertise in supporting the nation's digital transformation, he highlighted Presight’s eagerness to deploy advanced AI applications to build a safer, more efficient, and resilient transport network relying on real-time, smart operational data.
