ITIDA CEO Attends Launch of Coca-Cola HBC Digital Hub in Cairo to Serve 27 Markets Across Europe and Africa

On behalf of Eng. Raafat Hindy, Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), attended the inauguration of the Coca-Cola HBC Digital Hub in Cairo, a new regional technology center that will deliver advanced digital services to the company's operations across 27 markets in Europe and Africa.

The inauguration was attended by Dr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Zoran Bogdanovic, CEO of Coca-Cola HBC, along with senior government officials and company executives.

The Digital Hub is designed as a global delivery center providing advanced capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), software engineering, software development, quality assurance and testing, user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design, and agile delivery. The center will support Coca-Cola HBC's digital transformation by developing and operating business-critical digital solutions across its international markets.

Speaking during the inauguration, Ahmed Elzaher described the project as a milestone in the partnership between the Egyptian government and multinational companies, reflecting the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's continued efforts to attract foreign investment, develop digital talent, and expand Egypt's digital services exports.

He noted that ITIDA's collaboration with Coca-Cola HBC began in 2024, when the agency worked closely with the company to showcase Egypt's competitive advantages as a global outsourcing destination. The partnership was further strengthened through a memorandum of understanding signed during the Global Offshoring Summit, supporting the company's expansion plans and the development of specialized digital talent.

Elzaher added that the launch of the Digital Hub demonstrates growing international confidence in Egypt's ability to host and scale high-value global digital delivery centers.

The Cairo hub currently employs 250 technology professionals, with plans to expand its workforce to 450 employees by 2027. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate approximately US$34 million annually in digital services exports, further reinforcing Egypt's position as a regional hub for outsourcing and digital services.

The launch also aligns with Egypt's national strategy to grow its digital economy and offshoring sector. Since the strategy was introduced in 2022, Egypt has continued attracting major international technology investments. In 2025, the government signed agreements with 55 local and global companies to create more than 75,000 jobs over three years, with Coca-Cola HBC among the participating partners.

The Coca-Cola HBC Digital Hub represents another example of successful public-private collaboration aimed at strengthening Egypt's role as a leading regional and global destination for high-value digital services and technology exports.
