Egyptian Tax Authority Outlines Legal Forms for E-Commerce Businesses Under ”Simply” Campaign
The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), as part of its "Simply" (Bebasata) awareness campaign highlighting the new tax facilities, has clarified the legal forms that e-commerce practitioners can adopt.
The Authority stated that legal entities for those engaged in e-commerce activities are classified into natural persons (individual businesses/sole proprietorships) and legal persons, which encompass various types of companies.
The ETA noted that companies are divided into partnerships (persons' companies), which include:
General Partnerships: (شركات التضامن)
Limited Partnerships: (شركات التوصية البسيطة)
De Facto Companies: (شركات الواقع) These are entities established between natural persons without completing the formal incorporation or registration procedures.
Furthermore, the legal forms include capital companies (corporations), which comprise:
Joint-Stock Companies
Partnerships Limited by Shares
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs)
Single-Person Companies
The Egyptian Tax Authority invited individuals seeking further inquiries or details to visit the headquarters of the E-commerce Unit, reach out via the official email at [email protected], or contact the dedicated hotline at 16395.
