Ernst & Young provides more than 1,000 specialized job opportunities during three years in the fields of consulting and advanced technology

Eng. Rafat Hindi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, discussed with the leaders of Ernst & Young (EY) in the Middle East and North Africa, the plans to expand the company specialized in consulting services in Egypt, and launch a regional center to provide information technology outsourcing and consulting services, starting from Egypt to the Middle East and North Africa markets.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Omar Odeh, Head of Consulting at Ernst and Young (EY) in the Middle East and North Africa, Eng. Ahmed Al-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA), Eng. Mahmoud Safrata, Executive Vice President of the Authority, and Eng. Tamer Abu Al-Azm, Head of Consulting at EY in Egypt, along with a number of ministry and company leaders.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) and Ernst & Young in the Middle East and North Africa (EY MENA), where the memorandum of understanding represents a framework for joint cooperation in establishing and expanding the company's operations in Egypt, supporting the development of national cadres, and enhancing the export capabilities of digital and consulting services.

This expansion is intended to provide more than 1,000 specialized job opportunities over the next three years, in the fields of consulting and advanced technological services.

Engineer Rafat Hindi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressed that the expansion of EY MENA through the launch of a regional center for outsourcing and consulting services in Egypt reflects Egypt's attractiveness for global investments in the cross-border technological services sector.

He added that this expansion confirms the competitiveness of the Egyptian outsourcing sector and its ability to attract major international companies, especially in high-value services, which supports the growth of digital services exports, provides specialized job opportunities, and enhances Egypt's position as a center for providing technological services and business consultations. He stressed his confidence in the ability of Egyptian competencies to provide high-quality services that meet the needs of the company's customers in the regional markets, in order to support its plans to expand and increase the number of employees in the coming period.

The meeting discussed the company's plan to provide a full range of services from Egypt, including: business consulting, risk consulting, human resources consulting and institutional transformation, in addition to advanced technological services in the fields of: cybersecurity, digital engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, business platform consulting, and technological transformation strategies.

The company aims to provide these services to its customers in the Middle East and North Africa countries, benefiting from the competitive capabilities and specialized competencies provided by Egypt.

Mr. Omar Odeh, Head of EY Consulting in the Middle East and North Africa, said: "Egypt is a strategic destination for the company in light of its qualified young cadres, advanced digital infrastructure, and geographical location that connects regional and international markets."

“The MoU signed with ITIDA embodies the company's long-term commitment to the Egyptian market, and will contribute to the localization of advanced services, knowledge transfer, and qualifying Egyptian cadres to work on major digital transformation projects in the region,” he added.

Eng. Ahmed Al-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA), stressed the Authority's keenness to support the expansion of international companies in Egypt through the development of skills and enhancing the readiness of young cadres to provide value-added services to regional and international markets. He added that the expansion of EY MENA enhances Egypt's competitiveness in the fields of outsourcing, and the export of digital services from Egypt, relying on the distinguished engineering competencies and competitive advantages enjoyed by the state.
