Telecom Egypt.. The state”s partner in digital transformation within the villages of “Decent Life” completes optical fiber connectivity for more than 1250 villages
Telecom Egypt continued to achieve advanced completion rates in the project of laying fiber optic cables for the villages of the presidential initiative "Decent Life", where it completed the implementation of about five million fiber optic lines within the first phase of the initiative, which includes 1,450 villages in 52 centers in 20 governorates, contributing to the provision of high-speed Internet services to citizens, and supporting the expansion of the provision of digital services within the villages.
The company continues to connect fiber optic networks to all government buildings within the targeted villages, where the service has been connected to 75% of the service complexes in the villages, which enhances the efficiency of the digital infrastructure and allows the provision of digital services more efficiently.
Telecom Egypt continues to carry out work in the remaining villages according to the specified schedules in conjunction with other facilities, in support of the state's efforts to achieve digital transformation and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
The project of connecting fiber optic cables to the villages of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" has witnessed accelerated progress in recent years, as the number of villages implemented increased from 267 villages by the end of 2023, to 856 villages by the end of 2024, and then exceeded 1,000 villages during 2025, currently reaching more than 1,250 villages out of a total of 1,450 villages targeted in the first phase of the initiative.
