DMCC Partners with EAK Digital to Host the Inaugural ”BlockDown Dubai” in January 2027
The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has announced a partnership with EAK Digital—the organizer of the global "BlockDown" event series and Istanbul Blockchain Week—to launch "BlockDown Dubai" for the first time in the emirate. The event will be hosted at Uptown Dubai on January 26 and 27, 2027, in a strategic move aimed at consolidating Dubai's position as a premier global hub for digital assets, blockchain, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The event is projected to attract between 2,000 and 3,000 attendees, drawing founders, investors, and enterprises operating across the digital asset, blockchain, fintech, AI, and Web3 gaming sectors, alongside venture capital funds and financial service providers.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, stated that digital assets, AI, and blockchain infrastructure are rapidly transitioning from the periphery of the global economy to its very core. He noted that the next phase of economic growth will be defined by the ability of these technologies to seamlessly integrate with capital, regulatory frameworks, and international trade. Bin Sulayem highlighted that DMCC has successfully cultivated the region's leading tech community, housing one of the largest concentrations of Web3 companies in the Middle East.
He further added that by partnering with EAK Digital to host BlockDown Dubai at Uptown Dubai, DMCC is establishing a pioneering platform that unites founders, investors, and institutions at the epicenter of this technological transformation.
Currently, DMCC is home to over 800 Web3-specialized firms within a broader tech community comprising more than 4,000 companies, in addition to over 26,000 businesses operating in trade, finance, and professional services.
On his part, Erhan Korhaliller, Founder and CEO of EAK Digital, stated that the company has dedicated six years to building Istanbul Blockchain Week, which has now evolved into the largest Web3 conference in Turkey. He emphasized that the partnership with DMCC provides the company with a robust platform to build what it aspires to be the most significant Web3 event brand in the region, noting that January 2027 represents just the beginning.
"The Plaza" at Uptown Dubai will host the inaugural edition of the event, bringing together key stakeholders across the digital asset, decentralized technology, AI, Web3 gaming, venture capital, and financial services sectors. The agenda will feature deep-dive discussions on blockchain applications, asset tokenization, digital finance, AI, and gaming technologies.
