Vodafone Business and Banque Misr Partner to Empower Egypt”s SMEs Through Integrated Digital Business Platform
Vodafone Business Egypt and Banque Misr have signed a strategic partnership to provide integrated digital and financial solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through "Engagez by Vodafone Business", a comprehensive digital platform designed to support businesses from launch through expansion.
Announced to coincide with the International Day for Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), the partnership aims to help entrepreneurs streamline business operations, improve access to finance, and accelerate digital transformation across Egypt's SME sector.
The collaboration combines Banque Misr's banking expertise with Vodafone Business' digital capabilities to offer entrepreneurs a one-stop platform for essential business services. Through the partnership, SMEs will gain access to Banque Misr's Express Lending product, as well as Digital Business Onboarding, enabling businesses to apply for corporate bank accounts online and access financing solutions more efficiently.
The initiative targets businesses operating across key sectors including retail, healthcare, manufacturing, services, tourism and hospitality, transportation, and real estate and construction.
Commenting on the partnership, Mahmoud El Khatib, Vice President for Enterprise Business at Vodafone Egypt, said the agreement reflects Vodafone Business' commitment to supporting SMEs as a key engine of economic growth and job creation.
"Our partnership with Banque Misr brings together digital solutions and financial services to empower SMEs, strengthen their competitiveness, and accelerate their digital transformation," El Khatib said. "The Engagez platform was designed as a comprehensive digital solution that simplifies business management and enables entrepreneurs to make faster and more informed decisions through the integration of operational and financial services."
For his part, Hossam El-Din Abdel Wahab, Deputy CEO of Banque Misr, said the partnership reinforces the bank's strategy of supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises as one of the primary drivers of sustainable economic development.
He noted that Banque Misr continues to expand financing programs tailored to entrepreneurs across various sectors while offering technical advisory and non-financial services aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Egyptian businesses.
Beyond financing solutions, the partnership will enable businesses to open corporate bank accounts under preferential terms and benefit from discounted operating fees during the first year, helping reduce operating costs while encouraging greater integration into Egypt's formal financial system and advancing the country's financial inclusion agenda.
Vodafone Business said the initiative builds on its broader strategy of supporting SMEs through integrated digital solutions, including the Engagez platform and its digital marketplace, which provide businesses with practical tools to improve productivity, simplify operations, and enhance customer experience.
The company also continues to expand partnerships supporting entrepreneurship through initiatives such as Shark Tank Egypt and the Egyptian Entrepreneurship Association (EEA), providing startups and entrepreneurs with mentorship, visibility, and business development opportunities.
According to official figures cited by the company, Egypt is home to approximately 3.74 million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, representing 44.6% of all formal private-sector businesses. The sector employs around 5.8 million people, accounting for 43.1% of formal private-sector employment, and contributes approximately 43% of the country's gross domestic product, underlining its central role in economic growth and job creation.
