Egypt Signs Six Strategic Partnerships at WorkShift 2026 to Strengthen Freelancing and the Digital Economy
Egypt's Minister of Labor, Hassan Raddad, witnessed the signing of six strategic cooperation agreements during the opening of WorkShift 2026, the country's first executive summit dedicated to freelancing, remote work, and the digital economy, in a move aimed at strengthening Egypt's freelance ecosystem and expanding opportunities for digital employment.
The agreements were signed between the @Job Platform and a group of leading universities, technology companies, healthcare providers, financial institutions, and professional development organizations to establish a comprehensive support system for freelancers and enhance Egypt's position as a regional hub for digital talent.
The first agreement, signed with Misr International University (MIU), will establish a Freelancers Hub on campus to equip students with practical freelance skills, enhance their digital capabilities, and connect them with future employment opportunities in global markets.
A second partnership with Vezeeta, the summit's Official Digital Health Partner, will provide healthcare services and medical benefits tailored to freelancers and remote workers, supporting their professional stability and overall well-being.
The summit also saw the signing of a cooperation agreement with Fawry to introduce advanced digital payment solutions that simplify financial transactions for freelancers while promoting financial inclusion and facilitating their integration into Egypt's formal economy.
To strengthen entrepreneurship and innovation, @Job Platform partnered with Growth Labs to support startups, foster innovation, and create new opportunities for business growth within the digital economy.
Another agreement was concluded with IBDL Group to develop accredited professional learning pathways and internationally recognized certifications aligned with the evolving requirements of the global labor market, helping Egyptian professionals enhance their competitiveness.
The sixth agreement established a partnership with the ICF Egypt Chapter, the local branch of the International Coaching Federation, to provide career coaching, mentoring, and professional guidance services aimed at helping freelancers and digital professionals build sustainable long-term careers.
Commenting on the partnerships, Nermine El-Nemr, Founder of WorkShift Summit and CEO of Manteq for Management, Training & Technology Solutions, the company behind the @Job Platform, said the agreements demonstrate the summit's commitment to translating dialogue into concrete action.
"WorkShift is not simply a platform for exchanging ideas; it is an execution platform that brings together key stakeholders to create partnerships capable of accelerating the development of Egypt's freelance ecosystem," El-Nemr said.
She added that collaboration with universities, technology companies, financial institutions, healthcare providers, training organizations, and career development partners reflects a comprehensive strategy for building a sustainable environment that supports independent professionals.
According to El-Nemr, these partnerships will contribute to strengthening digital skills, expanding employment opportunities, increasing Egypt's digital services exports, and reinforcing the country's position as a leading regional destination for freelancing, remote work, and the digital economy.
