In a robust move to solidify Egyptian-Libyan economic ties, the Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council (CFEC) of Egypt officially participated in the inauguration of the North Africa International Exhibition for Plastic and Packaging held in Benghazi, Libya.

The high-profile opening ceremony was attended by key dignitaries from both nations, including Mr. Hosni Fouad, General Manager of ACG-ITF (the organizing company); Mr. Ibrahim Al-Zaghied, Member of the Libyan House of Representatives; Mr. Fouad Al-Awam, Chairman of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences; Ms. Souad Al-Oreibi, Member of the Benghazi Municipal Council; Mr. Nasser Negm, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs; and Mr. Mohannad Al-Saeiti, General Manager of the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture. Representing Egypt were Mr. Mohamed Mageed, Executive Director of CFEC, and Ms. Nariman Fathi, Director of the Exhibitions Department at the Council.

Record-Breaking Export Figures: Delivering a speech on behalf of the Council, Executive Director Mohamed Mageed highlighted the massive scale of the Egyptian chemical sector, which encompasses fertilizers, petrochemicals, plastics, paints, detergents, and specialty chemicals.

"During 2025, our global sector exports reached an impressive $10 billion, penetrating over 150 markets worldwide," Mageed announced. "The Libyan market remains a highly strategic destination for us, with Egyptian chemical exports to Libya alone totaling $299 million in 2025, predominantly driven by plastics, detergents, petrochemicals, and paints."

The CFEC emphasized that the historical relations between Egypt and Libya serve as a premier model for Arab partnership, paving the way for advanced levels of commercial and industrial integration in the near future.
