Within the framework of Egypt hosting the third edition of the African Presidency Competition for Youth in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics under the auspices of the President of the Republic
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced that the third edition of the African Youth Presidency Competition in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AYAIR 2026), hosted by Egypt under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic, on October 12 and 13, and is organized in cooperation with the African Union Agency for Development (AUDA-NEPAD) and the Ele-vate AI Africa Foundation, with registration closing on June 30.
The competition aims to encourage young Africans from the age of 15 to 35 to provide innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence and robotic technologies to meet the development challenges on the African continent. This is within the framework of continental efforts to motivate African youth to technological creativity and nurture and nurture young talents in the continent in various fields of technology and science.
In this context, an introductory seminar will be held as part of the competition on June 24 at 2 p.m. Cairo time entitled "African Presidential Youth Competition in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics - 2026" in order to answer the contestants' inquiries.
The competition focuses on a number of priority development axes for the African continent, including: eradicating hunger and achieving food security, preventing and controlling diseases within the framework of public health, protecting African cyberspace, promoting digital communication, and building societies based on knowledge and innovation.
This year's edition includes 12 axes covering vital areas, including healthcare, education, agriculture, mining, climate, construction, architecture, financial technology, artificial intelligence ethics, robotics design, quantum computing, cybersecurity, digital communication, and another open category.
The Grand Prize is awarded the Presidential Prize for innovations that can make a tangible and sustainable impact and support inclusive growth paths across the continent.
It is worth mentioning that the African Youth Presidency Competition in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics was launched in line with the African Union's Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa 2034, which aims to harness science and technology to serve African peoples and develop scientific infrastructure.
