UAE Ministry of Justice Hosts 4th MENA Financial Restructuring Conference (FRC 2026) in Abu Dhabi

The inaugural day of the fourth edition of the MENA Financial Restructuring Conference (FRC 2026), hosted by the Ministry of Justice in the United Arab Emirates, witnessed broad participation from regulatory authorities, financial institutions, institutional investors, restructuring practitioners, legal experts, and corporate leaders. The summit gathered to evaluate the future of financial recovery and expand corporate resilience across the region.

The conference convened at the Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers under the theme “Reviving Businesses, Reimagining Debt, Redefining Opportunities.” Participants analyzed how evolving regulatory frameworks, the expansion of private capital markets, and innovative restructuring strategies are reshaping the macroeconomic landscape of the Middle East and North Africa.

The event commenced with an opening keynote address delivered by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, UAE Minister of Justice. This was followed by a high-level regulatory panel featuring senior representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE), and the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA). The discussions centered heavily on fortifying corporate rescue frameworks, safeguarding market stability, and cementing international investor confidence.

Throughout the sessions, delegates examined complex corporate restructuring case studies, investment avenues within distressed assets, credit risk mitigation models, the rapid growth of the private credit market, and structural challenges tied to corporate governance. These technical dialogues solidified the FRC's position as the region’s premier platform for charting the trajectory of restructuring, insolvency, and corporate turnaround in the MENA zone.

Building on the momentum of the opening day, the conference will transition into its second day with focused tracks evaluating the latest updates inside the UAE Bankruptcy Law, distressed debt financing structures, non-performing loan (NPL) acquisitions, and turnaround strategies designed to help distressed enterprises navigate market friction and achieve sustainable corporate transformation.
