CIT Launches Weekly AI Webinars to Help Tech Companies Innovate Faster and Strengthen Competitiveness
The Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (CIT), the digital industry advocate in Egypt, has launched a series of weekly online seminars aimed at helping technology companies and startups harness the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance competitiveness, accelerate innovation and adapt to rapidly changing business models.
The initiative reflects the chamber’s commitment to supporting the growth of the information technology sector and equipping companies with the strategic insights needed to navigate the profound transformations driven by AI across industries.
The webinars seek to provide entrepreneurs and technology firms with a deeper understanding of emerging trends and the opportunities created by artificial intelligence, enabling them to develop their operations and address evolving market challenges.
According to the Capacity Development Committee at CIT, which includes board members Eng. Tarek Mallesh, Eng. Khaled Morsi and Dr. Mohamed Khalifa, the series was launched in response to growing demand from chamber members and companies seeking to understand the far-reaching impact of AI from technological, commercial and strategic perspectives.
The opening session featured Dr. Ashraf Abdel Wahab, who discussed the future of artificial intelligence and its expected impact on technology companies and business models over the coming years. Participants highlighted that AI has evolved into a structural transformation capable of reshaping products, services and business models to maximize value creation.
The second webinar focused on how technology companies can leverage advanced AI tools to manage marketing campaigns and promote digital solutions more effectively. Discussions emphasized that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a supporting tool but has become a key pillar for marketing functions, enabling companies to reach target audiences with greater precision, lower costs and stronger demonstrations of the value of their software and cloud solutions.
Dr. Mohamed Khalifa said the webinar series aims to help companies understand global and local AI trends, identify new business opportunities, explore international best practices, strengthen institutional and individual capabilities, and prepare for future developments in both the labor market and the technology sector.
He added that upcoming sessions will address more specialized topics, including AI strategies, Agentic AI, enterprise transformation, emerging business models, governance, digital sovereignty and practical applications across various economic sectors.
Among the key recommendations emerging from the sessions are the need for companies to begin building AI-related skills and capabilities immediately, reassess their existing portfolios of products and services to identify opportunities for intelligent redesign, and invest in high-quality data as a critical strategic asset in the AI era.
Participants also stressed the importance of developing intellectual property and specialized solutions rather than relying solely on traditional business models, while strengthening collaboration between the private sector, universities, research centers and government entities to accelerate the development of a competitive national AI ecosystem.
Prior to launching the webinar series, the chamber’s Capacity Development Committee conducted a survey among participants to identify their priorities and areas of interest. The results revealed strong demand for topics including AI strategies and roadmaps, process automation and productivity enhancement, AI-powered product and service development, marketing and customer experience, the impact of AI on jobs and future skills, and emerging opportunities for IT companies in local and regional markets.
