HDB Approves CEO Hassan Ghanem’s Resignation; NBE’s Yehia Abou El-Fotouh Nominated as Successor

 The Board of Directors of the Housing and Development Bank (HDB) has officially accepted the resignation of Hassan Ghanem from his position as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

In a regulatory disclosure sent to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) today, Monday, the bank revealed that Yehia Abou El-Fotouh, the current Deputy Deputy CEO of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), has been nominated to succeed Ghanem.

According to the disclosure, Abou El-Fotouh’s appointment is slated to take effect on July 1, 2026, pending the completion of all formal regulatory procedures and obtaining the final necessary clearances from the competent authorities.
