An analysis of Egypt’s food export structure during the first four months of 2026 revealed that frozen strawberries topped the list of exported food commodities, valued at $321 million and achieving an 11% growth compared to the same period last year.

Soft drink concentrates ranked second with an export value of $202 million. Meanwhile, chocolate recorded the highest growth surge among major commodities, with its exports skyrocketing to $159 million—reflecting an exceptional 128% growth rate and a net value increase of $90 million.

Several other commodities posted strong growth rates, including olive oil at 124%, salt at 79%, fats and greases at 58%, various food preparations at 33%, and processed olives at 19%.

The Food Export Council pointed out that export growth during this period was primarily driven by increased shipments of chocolate to the Saudi market, frozen strawberries to China, edible oils and olive oil to Spain, salt to the United States, and fats and greases to Jordan.

Mahmoud Bazan emphasized that these results reflect the sector's success in expanding the export of high-value-added products. He noted that the Council remains committed to executing its promotional strategies, trade missions, and participation in international exhibitions to boost export volumes and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products in global markets.
