Huawei Cloud Showcases AI-Powered Fintech Innovation and Secure Cloud Infrastructure at Egypt Fintech Summit 2026

Huawei Cloud brought together financial institutions, fintech companies, technology partners, and industry experts at the Huawei Cloud Fintech Summit 2026, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and secure digital infrastructure in accelerating Egypt’s financial transformation.

Held under the theme of advancing fintech innovation through cloud technologies, AI, data intelligence, and cybersecurity, the summit explored how next-generation cloud platforms are helping financial institutions build more agile, resilient, compliant, and customer-centric services amid the rapid digitalization of Egypt’s financial sector.

The event comes as demand continues to rise for secure, scalable, and locally hosted cloud infrastructure across Egypt’s banking and financial services industry. Since launching Egypt’s first hyperscale public cloud region in 2024, Huawei Cloud has played a key role in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure by ensuring critical workloads and sensitive data remain hosted within Egypt, supporting national data sovereignty and long-term digital resilience.

Huawei Cloud Reinforces Commitment to Egypt’s Financial Sector

Opening the summit, Jo Xu, CEO of Huawei Cloud Egypt, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the digital transformation of Egypt’s financial services industry through locally hosted, high-performance cloud solutions.

Xu highlighted the advantages of Huawei Cloud’s local cloud region, including low-latency services, enhanced data sovereignty, around-the-clock local support, secure and compliant cloud architecture, and advanced capabilities designed to support financial innovation and data-driven decision-making.

“Our goal is to become the trusted cloud and AI partner for financial institutions in Egypt by providing secure, scalable, and locally supported digital infrastructure that enables innovation while ensuring compliance and operational resilience,” Xu said.

Focus on Security, Compliance, and Operational Resilience

A major focus of the summit was cloud security and regulatory compliance, with Huawei Cloud specialists outlining best practices for building resilient fintech environments capable of supporting mission-critical operations.

Sessions covered multi-cloud disaster recovery strategies, cloud landing zone architecture, compliance-oriented security frameworks, and hybrid cloud deployment models tailored to the needs of regulated financial institutions.

Huawei Cloud also showcased the capabilities of Huawei Cloud Stack, which enables banks and financial institutions to establish secure and controllable cloud foundations for core banking systems, regulatory-sensitive workloads, and hybrid cloud environments.

The company emphasized its compliance with Egyptian regulatory requirements, including certification from the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), a Tier 3 cloud license, and adherence to Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) data localization and sovereignty requirements applicable to the non-banking financial sector.

Supporting Fintech Startups and Emerging Innovators

Beyond large financial institutions, the summit addressed the growing needs of startups and emerging fintech players seeking to scale their operations while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Huawei Cloud introduced cloud adoption frameworks designed specifically for small and medium-sized fintech companies, focusing on cost optimization, rapid deployment, compliance readiness, and partner-enabled delivery models.

These solutions are intended to reduce technical barriers, shorten time-to-market, and enable fintech companies to scale efficiently while accessing enterprise-grade cloud capabilities.

Real-World Success Stories

The summit featured several customer and partner case studies illustrating the impact of cloud transformation across Egypt’s fintech ecosystem.

Mohamed Amer, CTO of Evolve Investment Holding, shared the company’s experience migrating the mission-critical trading platforms of GNT and MNGM to Huawei Cloud. The migration involved the transfer of highly sensitive financial data and trading operations with near-zero downtime, ensuring uninterrupted access to real-time gold pricing and trading services.

According to Amer, the project utilized continuous data replication, parallel system validation, and carefully orchestrated migration processes to safeguard data integrity and maintain business continuity throughout the transition.

Meanwhile, Amr Farouk, Chairman and CEO of JATDEV, highlighted a range of banking and fintech solutions developed jointly with Huawei Cloud, underscoring the importance of ecosystem collaboration in driving innovation across the financial sector.

Farouk noted that partnerships between cloud providers, technology companies, and financial institutions are enabling organizations to access more specialized, efficient, and locally relevant digital solutions.

Industry Leaders Discuss the Future of Fintech Growth

The summit concluded with a high-level panel discussion titled “Accelerating FinTech Growth Through Cloud Innovation: Opportunities, Expectations, and Market Expansion in Egypt.”

Moderated by Ahmed Samy, Channel Director of Huawei Cloud, the session brought together key figures from Egypt’s fintech and investment sectors, including Ahmad Hammouda, Co-Founder and CEO of Thndr, Sameh El Torgoman, Founder and CEO of Evolve Investment Holding, and Ahmed El Shanawany, CEO and Managing Director of Souhoola Consumer Finance.

Panelists explored the opportunities and challenges shaping Egypt’s fintech landscape, including digital infrastructure requirements, regulatory compliance, artificial intelligence adoption, customer experience enhancement, and strategies for expanding financial inclusion.

Building Egypt’s Digital Financial Future

Closing the event, Huawei Cloud reaffirmed its long-term commitment to supporting Egypt’s digital economy through secure, AI-ready, and locally supported cloud services.

As the country’s fintech ecosystem continues to expand, the company said it will continue collaborating with financial institutions, technology partners, regulators, and industry stakeholders to help build a more intelligent, inclusive, and resilient financial services sector capable of supporting Egypt’s next phase of digital growth.
