DP World Studies New Logistics and Distribution Projects in Egypt to Boost Exports to Africa

DP World is exploring opportunities to establish new logistics and distribution projects in Egypt as part of its strategy to strengthen supply chains, support industrial growth, and enhance the country’s role as a regional gateway for exports to African markets.

The proposed investments are expected to focus on expanding logistics infrastructure, improving warehousing and distribution capabilities, and creating integrated supply chain solutions that facilitate the movement of goods between Egypt and key markets across the African continent.

The plans reflect growing interest from global logistics operators in leveraging Egypt’s strategic geographic location, extensive transportation network, and expanding industrial base to serve regional and international trade flows.

According to company officials, the potential projects would support Egyptian exporters by reducing logistics costs, improving market access, and accelerating the movement of goods to African destinations, particularly in light of increasing trade opportunities under regional economic integration frameworks such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The initiative is also expected to contribute to Egypt’s broader efforts to position itself as a regional logistics hub connecting Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia through advanced infrastructure and multimodal transport networks.

DP World has continued to expand its footprint in Egypt through investments in ports, logistics services, and supply chain solutions, supporting the country's ambitions to attract foreign investment and increase export competitiveness.

Industry experts believe that additional logistics and distribution investments could play a significant role in enhancing Egypt’s export capabilities, particularly for manufacturing, agricultural, and value-added products targeting high-growth African markets.

The move comes amid rising demand for integrated logistics services across Africa, as businesses seek more efficient supply chains and improved connectivity to support trade and economic growth throughout the continent.
