USD Exchange Rate Stabilizes Against EGP on Saturday; Expat Remittances Hit Record $34.9 Billion
The US dollar exchange rate stabilized against the Egyptian pound (EGP) during Saturday’s transactions across automated teller machines (ATMs), following a slight increase recorded on Thursday.
CBE Exchange Rates
According to the latest update by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the US dollar registered EGP 51.91 for purchase and EGP 52.05 for sale.
National Banks (NBE & Banque Misr)
At both the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr, the greenback stood at EGP 51.93 for purchase and EGP 52.03 for sale.
Private Sector Banks (CIB & Bank of Alexandria)
Commercial International Bank (CIB): The rate reached EGP 51.9 for purchase and EGP 52.0 for sale.
Bank of Alexandria: The dollar was priced at EGP 51.83 for purchase and EGP 51.93 for sale.
Expat Remittances Surge
In a related macroeconomic development, remittances from Egyptian expats achieved record inflows during the July–March period of the 2025/2026 fiscal year. Remittances surged by 32.0%, reaching approximately $34.9 billion, compared to $26.4 billion recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal year (2024/2025).
