During his tour today in 6th of October City, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, inspected the factory of Nerhado International Company for Pharmaceuticals and Nutritional Supplements; accompanied by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Giza, and a number of company officials.

The Prime Minister stressed that the successive visits to industrial buildings in the pharmaceutical sector come with the aim of supporting its growth opportunities, as one of the strategic sectors of advanced priority on the Egyptian state's agenda; for its pivotal role in providing pharmaceutical products for local need and opening horizons for export.

In turn, the Minister of Health and Population pointed out that the pharmaceutical industries sector in Egypt is achieving remarkable growth and permanent development; in terms of productive capacities, technologies used, diversity of manufactured varieties, export prospects, and keeping pace with the needs of various therapeutic fields, stressing that these positive indicators are driven by the state's interest in providing all the ingredients for the growth of this vital sector.

The head of the Egyptian Medicines Authority also stressed that the Authority continues its efforts to attract major international companies and strengthen strategic partnerships with them in order to increase its investments and support the state's plans to localize the pharmaceutical industries in Egypt, and provide the latest therapeutic preparations to citizens locally.

The Prime Minister listened to a presentation from Dr. Mohammed Shalabi, CEO of the factory, who pointed out that Narhado was founded in 1996, and includes expertise from multiple international pharmaceutical companies, which achieved the company's diversity of skills and integration of expertise to become a distinctive model in the drug industry, with an investment volume of 2 billion pounds, and 1170 employees.

Dr. Mustafa Madbouly inspected the production line of the factory, accompanied by an explanation from Engineer Hazem Mahmoud, Vice President of the company, who explained that the production area for the first and second phases reaches an area of about 3,270 m2, with an annual production capacity of 600 million capsules, and 840 million fast-dissolving films, with a local component of up to 60% as part of the company's commitment to enhance the local component. The laboratories are also built on an area of 420 m2, and the warehouse capacity reaches 2,600 balts, making the factory the largest production capacity in the Middle East, and diversity in products and concentrations.

The Vice President of the company explained that "Nerhado" contributed to the provision of the latest innovative pharmaceutical form in the Egyptian market and the Middle East, of quick-dissolving films, which began the registration and development stage since 2014. It is characterized by ease of use, fast impact, and high therapeutic effectiveness. The company also works to develop and produce a wide range of drugs that cover the most important therapeutic fields; including: cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases and diabetes, women's health, children's diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, oncology, and infertility diseases. Through these fields, the company continues its firm commitment to improving the quality of life and promoting human health at all ages.

Dr. Mohamed Shalabi, CEO of the factory, continued his speech during the inspection, pointing out that the company is currently exporting about 112 pharmaceutical varieties to about 15 countries around the world, with large export revenues and a rising sales volume, adding that "Nerhadu" occupies an advanced position in the Egyptian drug market, among more than 1,400 companies, and aims to be among the first five companies by 2028.

The CEO of the factory also provided an explanation about the company's expansions, where he explained that it is targeted to implement the third phase with investments of about 1.5 billion pounds, adding to the factory an area of up to 2100 m2, and adding a monthly production capacity of about 70 million fast-dissolving films, and also contributes to the creation of 1,000 new job opportunities.

The contributions of "Nerhado Pharmaceuticals" in the field of social responsibility were also reviewed, as it was pointed out that the company believes in the importance of education and training in improving the living conditions of individuals, and then achieving the economic and industrial growth of society, as it adopts a number of initiatives and programs with the aim of developing the capabilities, competencies and qualifications of individuals in proportion to the labor market. The company focuses on the axis of education and training in particular, on qualifying young people to lead with the aim of creating a youth base of competencies capable of taking responsibility and completing building society.

It was noted in this regard that the company concluded cooperation protocols with 12 public and private universities to cooperate in research and development and training fields. It also organized blood donation campaigns in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population with a total of more than two thousand beneficiaries, in addition to participating in organizing free medical convoys in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports that reached more than 3,000 beneficiaries with its services, as well as providing summer training opportunities in the field of pharmaceutical industries for pharmacy students, and more than 5,000 students enrolled over 4 years.
