The Egyptian Food Export Council has actively participated in the FI Africa & ProPak MENA 2026 exhibition, hosting a specialized panel discussion titled "Reliable/Approved Ingredients for a Safer Tomorrow." The council was officially represented during the panel by Board Member Mr. Karim Baraka.
Elite Roster of Regulatory Experts The strategic session brought together a prominent group of agri-food industry experts and regulatory leaders. Key panelists included Dr. Khaled Sofy, Chairman of the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality (EOS), and Dr. Hind Abdallah, Director of the Central Laboratory of Residue Analysis of Pesticides and Heavy Metals in Food (QCAP), while the session was moderated by Dr. Mamdouh Issa.
Throughout the debate, the council outlined the primary bottlenecks associated with food ingredients and their direct impact on export readiness for processing firms. The organization stressed the vital importance of implementing rigorous supplier qualification and approval frameworks, positioning these systems as highly effective tools to guarantee full compliance with strict international market mandates and elevate nationwide food safety thresholds.
Strengthening Supply Chain Tracing Mechanisms The discussions focused heavily on the necessity of upgrading tracking and monitoring infrastructure across raw agricultural supply chains. Panelists advocated for an expanded reliance on internationally recognized quality certifications and the continuous building of institutional trust in domestic ingredients. These synchronized steps are projected to substantially boost the competitive edge of Egyptian processed food products across hyper-competitive global target markets.
The Food Export Council concluded by reaffirming that driving the competitiveness of Egyptian shipments is intrinsically bound to enforcing the highest benchmarks of food safety and supplier risk management. This administrative alignment will support the penetration of Egyptian enterprises into lucrative foreign markets, guaranteeing sustainable top-line export growth over the coming fiscal periods.
