ITIDA Accepts 229 Proposals in Graduation Projects Support Program Round 21
The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has announced the list of graduation projects that successfully passed technical evaluation in the 21st round of its Graduation Projects Support program. It is implemented under IT-Academia Collaboration (ITAC), a flagship initiative designed to foster innovation and bridge the gap between scientific research and the evolving needs of the IT job market.
This round saw strong turnout from universities across Egypt, with the program receiving 483 projects from 72 universities. Following screening and technical evaluation, 229 projects were technically accepted and are now undergoing budget review and final approval procedures under ITAC, which provides funding of up to EGP 30,000 for each graduation project.
The accepted projects span a diverse range of strategic domains, including healthcare and assistive technologies, smart cities and IoT, automotive and autonomous systems, agriculture and environmental technologies, energy and renewables, AI, robotics, advanced manufacturing, and other ICT-driven innovation areas.
At the university level, Cairo University was the top participating institution with 30 submitted projects, followed by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport with 28. Benha University made a strong showing with 15 projects, while Ain Shams University contributed 10. Assiut University, Shorouk Academy, and October University for Modern Sciences and Arts each submitted 9 projects, a result that speaks to the growing research capacity of universities beyond Cairo, especially in Upper Egypt.
Since the launch of ITAC in 2006, the program has received 4,025 project proposals in total, of which 2,126 have been technically accepted. The number of graduation projects that have secured actual funding through 2025 stands at 1,163, a testament to the program's lasting impact on Egypt's innovation and tech entrepreneurship ecosystem.
