Dubai Tops List of Top 25 Meeting Destinations Across the Middle East and Africa
Dubai has secured the top position among the 25 best meeting destinations in the Middle East and Africa, reinforcing its growing status as one of the world’s leading hubs for international conferences, exhibitions, and business events.
The recognition was announced during Dubai’s participation in IMEX Frankfurt 2026, one of the world’s largest exhibitions dedicated to the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry. Dubai’s delegation included 20 partners and entities representing the emirate’s business events ecosystem, including Dubai World Trade Centre, Coca-Cola Arena, Museum of the Future, and JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.
Dubai Wins Multiple Global Rankings in International Conferences
Dubai also retained its leading position globally according to the International Congress and Convention Association in two major categories: the highest average attendance per international association meeting in 2025, and the top city in the Middle East and Africa by total number of hosted international association conferences.
In addition, the city ranked first in the “Top 25 Meeting Destinations” list for the Middle East and Africa according to the global meetings and hospitality technology platform Cvent.
The rankings reflect Dubai’s continued investments in advanced infrastructure, global connectivity, hospitality services, and large-scale event facilities, which have positioned the emirate among the fastest-growing destinations for international business tourism.
Business Events Become Core Driver of Dubai’s Economic Strategy
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said business events continue to play a pivotal role in supporting Dubai’s long-term economic growth by attracting international visitors, facilitating knowledge exchange, and strengthening cross-sector collaboration.
He noted that IMEX Frankfurt represents one of the most influential global platforms in the business events industry and offers Dubai an important opportunity to engage directly with international decision-makers and strategic partners.
Al Khaja added that Dubai’s participation aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to strengthen the emirate’s global competitiveness and expand its role as a leading international business and innovation hub.
Major International Conferences Headed to Dubai
Dubai’s growing global profile in the MICE industry has also translated into major international event wins for the coming years.
According to Dubai Business Events, the city has secured hosting rights for several large-scale global conferences, including the SIBOS 2029 organized by SWIFT, which is expected to attract approximately 12,000 participants.
Dubai will also host the annual SPE ATCE 2028 conference with around 8,000 attendees, alongside Apimondia 2027 and the World Congress of Engineers 2027.
Infrastructure and Global Connectivity Continue Fueling Growth
Industry experts attribute Dubai’s sustained rise in global business tourism rankings to its integrated infrastructure strategy, which combines aviation connectivity, luxury hospitality, advanced exhibition facilities, and streamlined travel accessibility.
The emirate has also intensified investments in innovation-driven venues and smart event experiences as part of broader efforts to position itself as a global center for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and future-focused industries.
