PUBG MOBILE Launches ”Crown of Champions” Update 4.4, Bringing Greek Mythology to the Battle Royale
PUBG MOBILE has officially released its latest major update, version 4.4, available until July 7, 2026. The new content drop, titled "Crown of Champions," introduces a mythological theme inspired by ancient Greek epics, featuring significant map overhauls, new combat mechanics, and seasonal gameplay modes.
The update brings sweeping visual and tactical transformations to iconic battlegrounds including Erangel, Livik, and Rondo. Key locations—such as Yasnaya Polyana, the Ruins, the Ferry Pier, and Mylta—have been redesigned with Greek-inspired aesthetics, opening new strategic pathways and combat engagements.
The Crown Sanctuary and Helios Confrontation
Version 4.4 debuts "Crown Sanctuary," a floating island where squads compete for high-tier loot and the chance to confront the legendary entity "Helios." Players can bolster their "Shared Glory" points through a series of specialized skill challenges, including:
Achilles’ Challenge: Focused on speed and precision.
Sparta Challenge: A wave-based combat survival test.
Prometheus Challenge: A mission to ignite the Sacred Flame.
Icarus Challenge: An aerial obstacle course.
The update also adds "Griffin Challenges" across the map, featuring soccer-inspired mini-games for quick supply acquisition.
Combat Tools and Gameplay Mechanics
Players gain access to new supernatural abilities, including "Rage Energy" for offensive bursts and "Battle Banners," which provide temporary defensive buffs to nearby teammates. The new "Glittering Wings" allow for tactical gliding and traversal. Additionally, the Laurel M1 Garand rifle debuts with upgradable capabilities that evolve alongside the player's "Glory" level. Upon defeating Helios in the Crown Sanctuary, players can recruit him as an AI-controlled legendary ally, utilizing his long-range strikes and healing abilities.
Quality-of-Life and Ecosystem Updates
Classic Mode: Introduces a two-seater convertible with a "Turbo" boost, available across Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Livik, Nusa, and Rondo. Weapon balancing includes performance buffs to the JS9 and wider distribution of the Panzerfaust.
Squad Dynamics: A new "Fast Crew" system utilizes AI to match players with teammates based on skill levels, fostering stronger team synergy and rewarding social gameplay.
World of Wonder, Metro Royale, & Home Mode: The World of Wonder receives a dedicated lobby for easier map discovery and mid-match joining features. Metro Royale Season 32 debuts with new musical collectibles, while the Home Mode introduces the "Twinkling Sanctuary" theme and vehicle parking seasonal content.
