FABMISR Unveils First ”Green School” Prototype in Cairo, Integrating Solar Tech and Water Treatment into Public Education

FABMISR, one of Egypt’s largest financial institutions, has successfully completed its flagship sustainability project, "Green Schools for a Sustainable Future," at Asmaa Secondary School for Girls. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Ein El-Beia Association, the bank has transformed the public school into a functional model for environmental integration. The project features high-tech solutions, including a solar-powered greywater treatment system and advanced irrigation for new green spaces, aimed at reducing the school’s carbon footprint.

During the inauguration, Ahmed Issa, CEO and Managing Director of FABMISR, emphasized that this initiative is a cornerstone of the bank's strategy to align human capital development with Egypt’s Vision 2030. By embedding ESG principles into the educational infrastructure, the project serves as a scalable blueprint for sustainable urban development. Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) officials praised the move as a vital contribution to sustainable finance, highlighting the banking sector's role in fostering financial literacy and climate resilience among the younger generation.
