Food Export Council and Export Development Fund Conclude Training Program on Export Rebates Scheme
== The Food Export Council, in cooperation with the Export Development Fund, has successfully concluded a specialized training program on Egypt’s export rebates system (“Export Burden Rebate”), held over two days on May 4–5, with participation from member companies and senior officials.
The program aimed to enhance companies’ understanding of how to effectively benefit from the export rebates framework, providing detailed guidance on the financial, accounting, legal, and documentation requirements necessary to obtain dues efficiently and without delays.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to support exporting companies and strengthen their competitiveness by enabling them to better navigate government support programs, ultimately contributing to increased exports of Egyptian food products.
Mahmoud Bazan, Chairman of the Food Export Council, highlighted the sector’s strong performance as one of Egypt’s leading export industries, noting that timely and efficient disbursement of export rebates is a critical factor in enabling companies to expand and access new markets.
He added that the training serves as a key tool to encourage companies to scale up exports, particularly amid challenges related to production costs, logistics, and compliance with international market requirements.
The program also included practical sessions covering registration procedures with the fund, documentation cycles, and compliance requirements, helping companies prepare accurate files to accelerate processing and payment.
For her part, Dr. Amani El-Wasal, CEO of the Export Development Fund, emphasized ongoing efforts to streamline procedures and expedite disbursement, while maintaining direct engagement with companies to resolve any issues during application and review stages.
She also encouraged companies to benefit from the supplementary decision supporting shipping costs to markets such as the United States and Iraq, highlighting its potential to boost competitiveness and expand market access.
The program concluded with the awarding of accredited certificates to participants in recognition of their commitment to enhancing their export capabilities.
