UNESCO and vivo Transform Mobile Phones into ”Digital Observatories” for Egyptian Youth at Alexandria University
In a significant boost to Egypt’s environmental storytelling, UNESCO and vivo Egypt successfully hosted a capacity-building workshop at Alexandria University. Part of the global initiative "Capture the Future," the event trained nearly 100 students to document the harmony between humanity and nature within Egypt’s biosphere reserves. By utilizing the vivo V70 FE and its groundbreaking 200 MP OIS Ultra-Clear Camera, participants were able to capture cultural and natural landmarks with scientific precision, meeting UNESCO’s high standards for archival documentation.
Kelly Cerialo, UNESCO Program Specialist, highlighted that the project encourages youth to move from "voice to action," offering career inspiration while improving local governance and branding. Dr. Manal Fawzy, Chair of MAB Egypt, praised the collaboration for teaching students how photography can be a powerful tool for meaningful messaging. The initiative bridges the gap between high-end imaging technology and sustainable storytelling, empowering the next generation of visual storytellers to contribute to a more connected and sustainable future.
