Egypt Joins ”AWAIL Dialogue” in Tunisia to Foster Arab-African Women Leadership in AI and Cybersecurity
Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) participated in the launch of the Arab African Women in AI Leadership (AWAIL) initiative in La Marsa, Tunisia. Organized by the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), the dialogue aims to bridge the gender gap in emerging technologies by equipping a new generation of women leaders with specialized skills in AI and cybersecurity. The initiative focuses on intergenerational knowledge transfer and accelerating women’s roles in developing ethical and inclusive AI frameworks across the Arab and African regions.
During the event, the Egyptian delegation highlighted the nation's progress in maintaining gender balance through flagship programs like "Digital Egypt Builders." By emphasizing the intersection of technological advancement and governance, Egypt underscored the importance of a unified Arab-African voice—led by women—in global forums. The dialogue concluded with a consensus on the need for coordinated regional efforts to ensure that the future of AI is not only secure but also representative of the diverse demographics it serves.
