Egypt’s Fixed Broadband Market Surges 36% in 2026 as Fiber Expansion Adds One Million Subscribers
The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has reported a landmark 36% growth in fixed internet services for 2026, driven by a massive nationwide infrastructure upgrade. The data reveals that approximately one million new subscribers joined the fixed broadband network this year, a surge attributed to the accelerated deployment of fiber-optic cables and the rising demand for high-capacity bandwidth.
The NTRA highlighted that this growth is a key indicator of the stability and modernization of Egypt’s digital backbone. As the government continues to phase out legacy copper networks, the increase in reliable home connectivity is fueling the expansion of Egypt's digital economy. Telecom operators are reportedly seeing a direct correlation between these infrastructure improvements and a significant rise in high-speed data consumption, positioning Egypt as a regional leader in digital readiness.
