NilePrepreneurs Initiative Drives EGP 3 Billion Revenue Growth for Egyptian Startups; CBE Reports Mass Expansion
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has released comprehensive data on the NilePrepreneurs initiative, showcasing its pivotal role in transforming Egypt’s SME landscape since its 2019 launch. The initiative has successfully reached 502,000 beneficiaries across 25 governorates through its 132 Business Development Centers. Notably, startups and SMEs supported by the program have seen a combined revenue increase of EGP 3 billion, underscoring the tangible economic value of non-financial services in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
According to the CBE, NilePrepreneurs has facilitated EGP 19 billion in total financing for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The initiative’s inclusive approach is highlighted by its gender distribution, with 42% of beneficiaries being women, a key metric in Egypt's broader financial inclusion strategy. Beyond financing, the program has incubated 500 startups and provided specialized business development and digital transformation support to 832 SMEs, cementing its position as a cornerstone of Egypt’s innovation-driven economy.
