Egypt’s Food Exports Surge 12% to Reach $6.8 Billion in 2025; Export Council Outlines Expansion Strategy for 2026
The Food Export Council (FEC) held its annual general meeting today, celebrating a record-breaking performance for the Egyptian food industry. May Khairy, Executive Director of the FEC, announced that sector exports climbed to $6.807 billion in 2025, representing a 12% growth compared to the $6.097 billion recorded in 2024. The meeting, which brought together hundreds of member companies and strategic partners, focused on sustaining this momentum through enhanced market access and institutional support.
The FEC outlined its roadmap for the coming year, emphasizing high-value services designed to boost the competitiveness of Egyptian products. These include specialized market research, trade missions, and technical support for international quality compliance. By streamlining legal consultations and intellectual property services, the council aims to empower Egyptian brands to penetrate more diverse markets in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, solidifying Egypt's position as a regional food manufacturing powerhouse.
