Valeo Deepens AI Roots in Egypt with New Development Center at Smart Village

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Raafat Hindi, has officially inaugurated Valeo’s Artificial Intelligence Development Center in Cairo’s Smart Village. The inauguration, attended by Valeo CEO Christophe Périllat, marks a significant expansion of the French automotive tech giant’s footprint in the region. Minister Hindi emphasized that the center is a testament to the global confidence in Egypt’s digital economy and its transformation into a premier hub for high-end software export.

The new facility will initially employ a specialized team of 35 AI engineers, with plans to scale to over 100 experts in the near future. This center is integrated into Valeo’s global R&D network, focusing on the development of deep learning models and computer vision systems for autonomous driving. By leveraging Egypt's vast pool of engineering talent, Valeo aims to accelerate the deployment of AI-driven safety features and smart mobility solutions for global automakers, further solidifying Egypt's rank as the top destination for software offshoring in Africa.
