Egypt to Host WorkShift 2026: The First Executive Summit Redefining the Future of Work and the Gig Economy
Egypt is set to launch WorkShift 2026 this June, the country’s inaugural executive summit dedicated to the evolving landscape of the labor market, freelancing, and remote work models. Organized by Nermin El-Nemer, CEO of Man-Tech and founder of the @jobs platform (formerly Al-Harifa), the summit will convene over 200 CEOs from leading local and regional corporations. The event aims to foster a high-level executive dialogue on transitioning from traditional employment to skill-based, flexible operating models that align with the global $1.5 trillion gig economy.
The summit comes at a critical juncture as Egypt intensifies its digital transformation efforts, aiming to create 630,000 jobs through digital service exports by 2029. WorkShift 2026 is designed not merely as a conference, but as an operational platform to facilitate public-private partnerships. Discussions will focus on integrating modern work patterns into the formal economy, developing digital policy frameworks, and leveraging AI to enhance recruitment efficiency—positioning Egypt as a competitive regional hub for high-value digital talent.
