Dr. Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, met today with Eric Oechslin, Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Cairo Office, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in developmental fields. The talks focused on fostering decent work opportunities, skill development, and nurturing the startup ecosystem. Minister Rostom emphasized that the partnership with the ILO is rooted in a shared vision to drive sustainable economic growth and job creation in collaboration with the private sector.

During the meeting, Dr. Rostom highlighted that the Egyptian government is committed to an "Economic Resilience" program designed to adapt to geopolitical shocks and global uncertainty. By prioritizing the stability of the industrial and agricultural sectors and adopting proactive measures to curb inflation, Egypt aims to secure a competitive edge in emerging markets. Mr. Oechslin praised Egypt’s proactive measures to mitigate global crises, reaffirming the ILO’s commitment to supporting national employment plans with a specific focus on "Green Jobs" and digital transformation to meet the needs of the modern economy.
