Federation of Egyptian Banks Appoints Ahmed Fouad to Lead SME Committee
The Board of the Federation of Egyptian Banks (FEB), chaired by Mohamed El-Etreby, has officially appointed Ahmed Fouad as the Chairman of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Committee. Fouad, who currently serves as the Head of SMEs at QNB Egypt, brings over 23 years of extensive experience in credit and corporate finance to the role. This strategic appointment is designed to bolster the banking sector’s commitment to SMEs, viewed as a primary engine for Egypt’s sustainable economic growth and job creation.
Fouad is recognized as a pioneer in the Egyptian market, having been among the first banking leaders to successfully meet the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) ambitious SME lending targets. His deep-rooted expertise in risk management and business development, combined with his four-year tenure within the FEB’s Technical Secretariat for the SME Committee, ensures a seamless transition and a renewed focus on innovative financing frameworks. His leadership is expected to drive more effective dialogue across the industry and streamline policies that empower small businesses.
