Egypt Launches 5th Edition of Government Excellence Award with 15 Categories to Drive Institutional Reform
Egypt has officially launched the fifth cycle of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence (EAGE), a key initiative aimed at institutionalizing excellence and elevating the efficiency of the state’s administrative apparatus. Dr. Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, announced that the 2026 edition features 15 institutional and individual categories designed to foster healthy competition and encourage innovative solutions within the government sector.
The new cycle marks a strategic shift toward digital transformation and sustainable development. For the first time, categories such as "Best Health Directorate," "Best People of Determination-Friendly Entity," and "Best Joint Project/Initiative" have been introduced. Minister Rostom emphasized that these awards are fundamental pillars for achieving sustainable economic and social growth, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030. Applications are set to open this April, with the evaluation process—utilizing advanced digital assessment tools—running through mid-September.
