EDECS and MEDLOG Ink Landmark Deal to Construct 10th of Ramadan Dry Port

In a move set to redefine Egypt’s logistical capabilities, EDECS, a leading regional engineering group, and MEDLOG, the logistics arm of the global MSC Group, have officially launched a major dry port project in the 10th of Ramadan City.

The signing ceremony, held on April 8, 2026, marks the commencement of a strategic partnership aimed at modernizing Egypt’s freight infrastructure and bolstering its position as a premier regional trade hub.

Transforming Trade Infrastructure

The new facility, spanning 189,000 square meters, will be executed under a comprehensive Design-and-Build (EPC) contract. EDECS will spearhead the engineering, procurement, and construction services, which include:

Extensive earthworks and specialized paving.

The installation of essential utilities and road marking.

Development of advanced port infrastructure designed for high-capacity freight.

Aligned with the Egyptian Ministry of Transport’s national vision to establish a network of modern logistics zones, the project aims to reduce operational costs, mitigate logistical risks, and minimize environmental impact through the integration of smart transport systems.

Strategic Milestones

For MEDLOG, the 10th of Ramadan Dry Port represents a historic first, marking the company’s inaugural dry port venture in Egypt. This expansion leverages MEDLOG’s global expertise in intermodal transportation and inland yard operations.

Eng. Hussein El Dessouky, Chairman of EDECS, highlighted the long-term impact of the collaboration:

"This partnership reflects a shared vision of creating world-class infrastructure that drives the region’s economic development. Together with MEDLOG, we are building a facility that will serve as a cornerstone for the region’s trade and logistics future."

Future-Ready Logistics

The project is more than just a construction feat; it is a digital transformation. By utilizing cutting-edge technology and digital solutions, the dry port will ensure seamless trade flows and improved resilience in the face of global supply chain shifts.

With EDECS’ proven track record—having delivered over 10 kilometers of berths and 3 million square meters of infrastructure—and MEDLOG’s presence in over 90 countries, the project stands as a testament to the synergy between local execution excellence and international standards.
