Egypt’s NTRA and Customs Authority Launch Installment Services for Imported Mobile Fees via valU
In a strategic move to streamline the governance of mobile devices brought from abroad, the Egyptian Customs Authority and the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) have announced a new installment service for mobile customs fees. valU, the leading Middle Eastern consumer finance platform, has been selected as the inaugural partner for this initiative, providing users with flexible payment plans to settle regulatory dues.
The initiative aims to enhance compliance within the mobile device registration framework by offering accessible financial solutions. In addition to the new installment option, users can continue to pay fees via the "Telefony" app, e-wallets, and digital banking channels. To further support Egyptian expatriates, the authorities have extended the grace period for overseas devices to 120 days from the date of first activation, ensuring a seamless transition for users before any regulatory measures are enforced.
