MCS Signs MoU with Ministry of Petroleum to Boost Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity
Mideast Communication Systems (MCS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance digital capabilities and develop qualified cybersecurity talent across Egypt’s petroleum sector.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Wael Lotfy, Deputy Minister for Projects at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Eng. Tarek Shabka, Chairman of MCS. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to building a secure and sustainable digital ecosystem that ensures business continuity within one of the country’s most strategic industries.
Under the MoU, both parties will implement specialized cybersecurity training programs aimed at strengthening workforce capabilities and equipping employees with the skills needed to address the evolving landscape of cyber threats. The initiative is expected to reinforce the protection of critical digital infrastructure while enhancing operational efficiency across the petroleum sector.
Commenting on the partnership, Eng. Tarek Shabka stated:

The signing took place on the sidelines of the ninth edition of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2026), held under the patronage and in the presence of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The event is recognized as a leading platform for the energy sector across North Africa and the Mediterranean, serving as a key hub for international dialogue on the future of energy, investment, and technology.
