Dubai Chambers Strengthens Strategic Economic Ties with China Council for International Trade (CCPIT)

Chambers held a high-level meeting with Li Xianjing, Chairwoman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Beijing, to explore new avenues for bilateral trade and investment. The discussions focused on reinforcing strategic partnerships and accelerating economic cooperation between Dubai and China across high-growth sectors.

The meeting, which included Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the expansion of joint efforts to integrate the business communities of both regions. Key focus areas included the digital economy, healthcare sciences, and advanced industrial sectors.

Commenting on the meeting, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah stated:

"China’s position as Dubai’s leading trading partner underscores the strategic importance of our economic ties. We are committed to expanding our cooperation with CCPIT Beijing to unlock promising opportunities in digital transformation and advanced manufacturing, ensuring sustainable growth and mutual prosperity for our business communities."

This engagement builds upon a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Dubai Chambers and CCPIT Beijing during the Dubai Business Forum – China, held in Beijing in August 2024. The agreement aims to facilitate the entry and expansion of Chinese firms into the Dubai market while assisting Dubai-based companies in establishing a foothold in China.

Strategic Highlights:

Trade Leadership: China remains Dubai’s largest trading partner, driven by robust activity in technology and logistics.

Sector Focus: Emphasis on the "Digital Economy" as a primary driver for future bilateral investments.

Support Framework: Ongoing initiatives to provide technical and operational support for companies looking to scale across both markets.

The meeting reflects Dubai’s ongoing commitment to the D33 Economic Agenda, which aims to double the size of Dubai's economy over the next decade and consolidate its position as one of the world's top three global cities for business and investment.
