Egypt’s NTRA Announces New Operating Hours for Telecom Outlets and Remote Work Mandate

Following the Prime Ministerial Decree No. 909 of 2026, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has officially adjusted the operating hours for all licensed telecom service providers' retail outlets. Starting Saturday, March 28, 2026, outlets will operate from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Sunday through Wednesday, with extended hours until 10:00 PM on Thursdays, and a specialized Friday shift from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The NTRA further announced a mandatory remote work system for non-customer-facing corporate offices, effective every Sunday throughout April 2026. While most regions must strictly adhere to these windows, strategic exceptions have been granted for key tourism hubs—including Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, and Aswan—as well as Nile-front outlets in Cairo and Giza, to ensure uninterrupted service in high-traffic commercial and tourist zones.
