Egypt’s Telecom Regulator Refunds EGP 757K to Users Following Complaint Investigations in H2 2025

The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) announced that approximately EGP 757,000 was refunded to users in the second half of 2025 after investigations confirmed the validity of their complaints.

According to the regulator’s report on the telecom consumer complaints monitoring system, the majority of refunded amounts—around 86%—were related to mobile wallet complaints, highlighting the growing importance of digital financial services within the sector.

The report also indicated that fixed-line service complaints reached 193 complaints per 100,000 subscribers، reflecting ongoing challenges in service quality for landline users.

Meanwhile, the response rate to complaints escalated to the NTRA stood at 94%, with an average response time of approximately 2.25 days, underscoring the authority’s efforts to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction in handling telecom-related grievances.
