Egyptian Expat Remittances Surge 28% to $25.6 Billion in First Seven Months of FY 2025/26

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced a 28.4% increase in remittances from Egyptians working abroad during the period from July to January of the 2025/2026 fiscal year, reaching approximately $25.6 billion, compared to around $20 billion during the same period in the previous fiscal year 2024/2025.

On a monthly basis, the CBE reported that remittances in January 2026 rose by 21%, reaching about $3.5 billion, up from $2.9 billion in January 2025.
