National Bank of Egypt Facilitates Over 8.3 Million ATM Withdrawals During Eid Period
The National Bank of Egypt announced that it facilitated more than 8.3 million withdrawals totaling approximately EGP 26.5 billion through its ATMs over nine days starting March 15, 2026, including 1.9 million contactless transactions valued at EGP 7 billion.
The bank emphasized its commitment to keeping all ATMs nationwide fully stocked to meet citizens’ cash needs around the clock during the state salary disbursement period and Eid al-Fitr holiday allowances. The National Bank of Egypt operates the country’s largest ATM network with over 7,393 machines spread across Egypt.
The bank highlighted the effective coordination during the holiday between its staff and cash-in-transit companies, ensuring ATMs in streets and shopping centers are replenished promptly. Machines are stocked to full capacity, sometimes multiple times a day in high-traffic areas, with continuous monitoring and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and security for all withdrawal and deposit transactions.
