Kaspersky Launches Cybersecurity Training for African Law Enforcement Officers in Partnership with AFRIPOL
Kaspersky has launched a specialized cybersecurity training program for law enforcement officers from 23 African countries, as part of a joint initiative with AFRIPOL, the African Union mechanism for police cooperation.
The program, conducted between November 2025 and March 2026, trained 40 African officers in a course titled “Security Operations and Threat Hunting.” The program focused on providing participants with practical knowledge of Security Operations Center (SOC) activities and advanced threat-hunting techniques.
Key training modules included detecting malicious activity across different operating environments such as Windows and Linux, analyzing attacker tactics and techniques, and leveraging threat intelligence to identify advanced attacks—enhancing participants’ capabilities in cybercrime investigations.
The training also featured interactive online sessions, enabling participants to engage directly with Kaspersky experts and discuss real-world case studies, deepening practical understanding of cybersecurity concepts.
Yulia Shlichtchkova, Kaspersky Vice President of Public Affairs, commented:
“Cybercrime is becoming increasingly complex and cross-border, requiring stronger cooperation between cybersecurity firms and law enforcement agencies. Our partnership with AFRIPOL is an effective model for knowledge exchange and supporting efforts to combat digital crime across Africa.”
Mohamed Ben Irad, Head of Capacity Building at AFRIPOL, added that developing law enforcement skills is essential to counter growing cyber threats, noting that programs like this provide officers with practical tools to investigate, analyze digital evidence, and respond to emerging threats.
As part of ongoing efforts, Kaspersky and AFRIPOL signed a five-year cooperation agreement to enhance threat intelligence sharing and provide technical and analytical support in the field of information security.
Since its inception, Kaspersky’s Expert Training program has trained over 3,000 professionals from 50 countries across 12 advanced courses covering areas such as reverse engineering, threat detection, and incident response.
