Ramadan Sparks Surge in Arabic Content Consumption on TOD

TOD, the MENA region’s leading streaming platform, has reported a significant shift in viewing habits during Ramadan, with entertainment consumption rising sharply across the platform. Traditionally known for its premium sports content, TOD has seen increased engagement with action and mystery genres, reflecting evolving audience preferences during the holy month.

Early Ramadan data shows audiences are spending considerably more time on TOD, with average viewing hours up across multiple categories. Leading the Ramadan charts is the Egyptian action series Awlad AlRaey, starring Khaled El Sawy, Majed El Masry, and Ahmed Eid, closely followed by the mystery series Saadat Almajnon, featuring Abed Fahed, Sulafa Memar, and Basem Yakhoor.

Another notable trend is the spike in prime-time news consumption, with Arabic news viewership up by 1128% and English by 685%, demonstrating the platform’s role in delivering real-time news during critical regional events. While Arabic programming dominated with a 33% engagement increase, some Western titles like The Apprentice, Mission Impossible, and Karate Kid maintained viewer interest.

These trends highlight how Ramadan continues to influence regional streaming habits, as audiences balance culturally resonant Arabic content, global entertainment, and real-time news. TOD expects strong engagement with Ramadan programming to continue throughout the holy month.
