US Dollar Strengthens Against Egyptian Pound Across Major Banks on 15 March 2026
The US dollar continued its upward trend against the Egyptian pound today, with most banks in Egypt reporting increased exchange rates during trading.
Among the largest increases were observed at Next Bank (NXT), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), and Suez Canal Bank (SCB). These banks recorded buying rates of EGP 52.65, 52.62, and 52.57 respectively, with selling rates reaching approximately EGP 52.75, 52.72, and 52.67. Daily positive changes ranged between 0.23% and 0.48%.
Other banks, including HSBC, Kuwait Finance House (KFH), and SAIB, also saw rises, with buying rates around EGP 52.50 and selling rates near EGP 52.60, showing modest daily changes of 0.17% to 0.21%.
Additionally, the dollar strengthened at Bank of Cairo (BDC), AlexBank, and National Bank of Egypt (NBE), where buying reached EGP 52.48 and selling EGP 52.58, with Cairo Bank exceeding a 1% increase and smaller movements of 0.17%–0.36% at the other banks.
The trend was mirrored across other major banks, including Arab International Bank (AIB), Commercial International Bank (CIB), Banque Misr (BM), Egyptian Gulf Bank (EG Bank), Faisal Bank, and Housing & Development Bank (HDB), all maintaining buying around EGP 52.48 and selling near EGP 52.58, with minor changes of 0.15%–0.17%.
Other banks, including First Abu Dhabi Bank Egypt (FABMISR), Al Baraka Bank, Export Development Bank (EBank), and National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), posted selling rates near EGP 52.55, with changes ranging between 0.11% and 0.19%. Meanwhile, Emirates NBD registered a slight increase to EGP 52.48 for selling, up 0.17%.
