Al Rawi Storyteller Award Announces Suez Canal Bank as Main Partner for Second Edition

Under the patronage of several Egyptian ministries, the Al Rawi Storyteller Award has announced Suez Canal Bank as a main partner for its second edition, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment and fostering creativity within Egypt’s growing content creation ecosystem.

The award is held under the auspices of four Egyptian ministries: the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (Egypt), Ministry of Social Solidarity (Egypt), Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (Egypt), and the Ministry of Culture (Egypt). It is also supported by e& Egypt as the technology partner and sponsored by Al Salem Holding Group.

The award’s jury panel is chaired by prominent media figure Tarek Nour, Chairman of United Media Services and founder of TN Communications, bringing extensive experience from the media and creative industries to the evaluation process.

As part of the partnership, Akef El Maghraby, CEO and Managing Director of Suez Canal Bank, will join the jury panel for the award’s second edition, further strengthening the panel with leadership from Egypt’s financial sector and reflecting the bank’s commitment to promoting innovation and creative thinking among young people.

Launched to spotlight emerging storytellers, the Al Rawi Storyteller Award aims to discover and empower young content creators capable of presenting modern and authentic narratives about Egypt. Through creative storytelling across multiple formats, the initiative encourages youth to share their perspectives and contribute to shaping a contemporary image of the country.

Highlighting the importance of the partnership, Lamia Kamel, Founder and Managing Director of CC Plus, Founder of the Narrative PR Summit, and Co-Founder of The Global Narrative, said that welcoming Suez Canal Bank as a partner reflects a shared belief in the power of creativity and the importance of investing in young talent. She added that the award aims to evolve into a sustainable national platform that discovers and nurtures creative voices from across Egypt’s governorates.

For his part, Akef El Maghraby stated that the bank’s support for the initiative stems from its firm belief that young people are the primary drivers of the future. He emphasized that Suez Canal Bank remains committed to supporting initiatives that provide youth with platforms to express their ideas and develop their creative capabilities, in line with the objectives of the Central Bank of Egypt and Egypt Vision 2030 for sustainable development.

The first edition of the award was launched during the Narrative PR Summit, bringing together prominent business leaders, artists, and creatives, and establishing the initiative as a national platform dedicated to celebrating young storytellers.

Applications for the second edition opened in January 2026 under the theme “How You See Egypt,” inviting young creators to submit their storytelling projects through the award’s official social media platforms.
