iCareer Marks 10 Years of Impact, Empowering 450,000 Young People Through 58 Employability Projects

iCareer, Egypt’s leading employability and career development consultancy, has celebrated a decade of impact in youth employment, highlighting its growing role in connecting young talent with labour market opportunities through its integration within the BasharSoft ecosystem.
The milestone was announced during a Suhoor event hosted by iCareer in Cairo, attended by representatives from government entities, development organisations, universities, and private sector companies, reflecting the broad collaboration shaping Egypt’s employability ecosystem.
Originally announced in October 2025, iCareer’s integration into BasharSoft’s ecosystem has unified several leading recruitment and career platforms - including WUZZUF, Forasna, and Recruitera - into a single digital framework designed to deliver more effective career guidance, skills development, and labour market insights. The integrated ecosystem aims to strengthen connections between job seekers and employers across Egypt and the wider Middle East.
Collectively, BasharSoft’s platforms now serve more than 9 million job seekers and 113,000 approved companies, hosting nearly one million job posts and around five million vacancies. To date, the platforms have generated more than 100 million job applications, while attracting approximately three million monthly visits from over six million active job seekers. This scale enables career programs and employability initiatives to be developed using real-time labour market insights rather than assumptions.
Over the past decade, iCareer has expanded its reach through 58 youth employability projects, organised 27 career days and specialised summits, and partnered with 21 universities across Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The organisation has also collaborated with six government ministries and launched three digital platforms designed to support universities, employers, and job seekers with practical tools that help young people navigate the labour market more effectively.
By leveraging WUZZUF’s extensive employer network and labour market data, iCareer can now design and implement large-scale, data-driven career programs that offer personalised guidance and access to opportunities for young people at an unprecedented scale.
iCareer continues to deliver employment programs in collaboration with international development partners, including the International Labour Organization (ILO), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Plan International Egypt, UNICEF, and UK AID. These initiatives focus on building market-driven training models and delivering career guidance supported by labour market data.
With support from the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE), iCareer has also upgraded its Applicant Tracking System (ATS), enhancing digital recruitment capabilities and improving how employers connect with qualified talent.
The integration of iCareer’s career development expertise with BasharSoft’s technology, labour market database, and employer network has created a comprehensive digital ecosystem supporting every stage of the talent journey - from students exploring career paths to workforce preparation and recruitment management for employers. Through this ecosystem, BasharSoft aims to empower 50 million people professionally by 2030.
Akram Marwan, Chairman and Founder of iCareer, said the organisation has spent the past decade working to bridge the gap between education and employment.
“For the past ten years, iCareer has focused on equipping young people with the guidance and skills needed to successfully navigate the labour market,” Marwan said. “Through our integration within BasharSoft’s ecosystem, we are now able to scale this mission further than ever before by combining career development expertise with advanced technology and labour market intelligence to create real pathways to employment for millions of young people.”
Ameer Sherif, Founder of BasharSoft, said the integration has significantly expanded the reach and impact of the company’s platforms.
“Integrating iCareer into the BasharSoft ecosystem has amplified the value of our platforms,” Sherif said. “Together with WUZZUF and Forasna, we have facilitated nearly five million job opportunities, while iCareer has supported 450,000 young people through career services, assessments, training programs, and digital platforms. This collaboration strengthens a data-driven ecosystem that connects talent with opportunity at scale.”
The Suhoor gathering brought together a wide range of stakeholders from across Egypt’s employment ecosystem, including representatives from organisations such as ILO, UNICEF, UNDP, CFYE, Plan International, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, MSMEDA, Cairo University, the American University in Cairo, MUST University, Galala University, Microsoft, Arab African International Bank, HSBC, Paymob, Teleperformance, Geidea, Spinneys Egypt, Sprints, Flat6Labs, and Berlitz Egypt.
The event highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in strengthening youth employability and supporting Egypt’s broader economic development goals by creating sustainable pathways to employment for the next generation.
