Egypt Ranks Third in MENA Startup Funding as Local Firms Secure $63.6 Million in February
Egypt maintained a strong presence on the startup investment map in the Middle East and North Africa during February 2026, as Egyptian startups succeeded in attracting $63.6 million in funding, placing the country third regionally among the most capital-attracting markets in the entrepreneurship sector.
According to a report by Digital Digest, these investments were part of a broader regional funding total exceeding $279 million that was injected into startups across the region during the same month. The figures highlight the continued activity of venture capital funds and investors supporting fast-growing technology companies in the region, particularly in the Egyptian market, which is considered one of the largest entrepreneurship ecosystems in North Africa.
Egyptian startup Breadfast emerged as one of the most prominent funding stories in the region in recent months after successfully raising $50 million in a major investment round, making it one of the largest startup deals in the Middle East and North Africa.
This significant funding reflects growing confidence in the company’s business model. Breadfast is regarded as one of Egypt’s leading startups operating in the e-commerce and rapid grocery delivery sector.
The company’s position among the region’s largest funding deals underscores the increasing ability of Egyptian startups to compete for major investments. This growth is supported by the country’s expanding domestic market, rising demand for digital services, and the accelerating pace of digital transformation across multiple sectors, including e-commerce, logistics, and fintech.
The continued flow of funding into Egyptian startups also signals strong investor confidence in the long-term potential of the market. A new generation of startups is emerging with the capability to expand regionally and deliver innovative solutions targeting large markets both within and beyond the region. This dynamic further strengthens Egypt’s position as a key hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Middle East and North Africa.
