Egypt’s Food Industry Exports Reach $4 Billion to Top 15 Markets in 2025

The Egyptian Food Export Council reported that Egypt’s top 15 food export destinations accounted for 59% of the sector’s total exports in 2025, amounting to $4 billion out of a total $6.8 billion in food exports.

The council highlighted that these figures reflect the diversified export base of Egypt’s food industry and its ability to penetrate multiple markets across different regions, supporting sustainable non-oil export growth and strengthening the sector’s regional and global presence.

Saudi Arabia led the list of top importers with $563 million, representing 8% of total food exports, followed by the United States with $438 million (6%), and Sudan with $344 million (5%). Other major markets included Libya ($299 million, 4.4%), Jordan ($287 million, 4.2%), Algeria ($244 million, 3.6%), UAE ($237 million, 3.5%), Iraq ($236 million, 3.5%), Netherlands ($232 million, 3.4%), Palestine ($205 million, 3%), Lebanon ($201 million, 3%), Morocco ($192 million, 2.8%), Italy ($191 million, 2.8%), Germany ($181 million, 2.7%), and Yemen ($178 million, 2.6%).

The council emphasized that the results underline the success of Egypt’s market diversification strategy, balancing exports across Arab, European, and American markets. This strategy enhances the sector’s resilience to global fluctuations and ensures sustainable growth in the coming years.
