Lenovo Unveils AI-Powered PCs, Modular Design Concepts, and Lenovo Qira at MWC 2026
During its participation in MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Lenovo unveiled a new range of AI-powered personal computers, alongside innovative modular design concepts, and announced the initial launch of its “Lenovo Qira” personal ambient intelligence platform.
The company explained that its strategy focuses on developing computing systems that adapt to the user and work environment by integrating AI at the system level. This approach enables a seamless and unified experience across PCs, smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices.
Launch of Lenovo Qira
Lenovo introduced “Lenovo Qira,” an ambient intelligence system embedded directly into its devices and Motorola products, rather than as a standalone application. The platform is designed to support continuity across devices, providing assistance based on usage context and user intent.
Lenovo Qira is set to roll out in the coming weeks on over 20 devices across the Yoga, IdeaPad, Legion, and ThinkPad series via over-the-air updates or pre-installation. It will initially support six languages in nine regions, with plans to expand to additional devices and Motorola smartphones throughout 2026.
Modular Design Concepts and Innovative Devices
Lenovo showcased several new concepts, including:
ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept: A modular business PC allowing interchangeable screens and I/O units, with a base 14-inch display expandable up to 19 inches, supporting flexible work environments and extended device lifecycle.
Yoga Book 3D Concept: A glasses-free 3D laptop offering immersive depth perception, AI-enabled 2D-to-3D content conversion, and gesture-based interaction technologies.
Legion Go Fold Concept: A foldable handheld gaming device transforming from a compact to larger screen, supporting multiple usage modes including mobile gaming and multitasking.
Updates in Commercial Devices
Lenovo enhanced its business portfolio with updates to the ThinkPad T-Series, including improved maintainability and AI readiness, and introduced the ThinkPad X13 Detachable for professionals in flexible work environments. Other additions include the rugged Android-based ThinkTab X11 for industrial use, ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 6 for SMBs, and the portable ThinkVision M16 display for mobile work setups.
Consumer and Gaming Devices
For consumers, Lenovo launched the Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition with OLED displays, as well as Yoga Pro 7a and IdeaPad Slim 5i Ultra AI-powered models balancing performance and portability. The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 became the first tablet supporting Lenovo Qira. Gaming devices were expanded with Legion 7a and Legion Tab featuring a 3K screen and advanced cooling systems.
Lenovo emphasized that its MWC 2026 showcase reflects the company’s commitment to expanding AI technology across a wider range of devices and platforms, creating a more connected and flexible experience for users across industries.
